Kick-off: Thursday June 6th , 2024.

The Safe Summer 2024 initiative is a community-driven, multi-city effort aimed at preventing gun violence. Our goal is to promote safety and security within the selected jurisdictions during the summer months. To achieve this, we will adhere to the following guiding principles, which are rooted in community leadership:

STRATEGIC PLANNING: Our approach involves close collaboration with neighborhoods and community stakeholders to identify and anticipate potential hotspots and upcoming events. We aim to strategically design preventive peacekeeping efforts that effectively curb gun violence.

CROSS COLLABORATION: Our strategy involves leading a cross collaboration effort that brings together  community violence intervention organizations, business owners, community leaders, and city agencies. By pooling our resources, we can effectively address, the scourge of gun violence & promote a safer community for all.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:  Our goal is to enhance our volunteer program by recruiting individual’s with specific skillsets. These recruitment strategies will increase our volunteer  roster significantly while maximizing skillset coupled with availability. Community engagement is expanded when we have strong volunteer participation.
