A Safe Summer Celebration: Far Rockaway Comes Alive with Fun and Unity

On a bright and sunny day, the community of Far Rockaway gathered at Beach 36th Street for a day of fun, fellowship, and empowerment. Organized by Queens Royal Priesthood in collaboration with Queens Defenders, Sol de Vida and Community Capacity Development (CCD), the Safe Summer event brought together residents of all ages to enjoy games, food, giveaways, and the warmth of a united community.

The event was a vibrant celebration of the spirit and resilience of Far Rockaway, with the beach as the perfect backdrop. Families, friends, and neighbors turned out in force, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. The youth, in particular, stole the show with a spirited tag football game that drew cheers from onlookers. The game was a highlight of the day, showcasing the energy and talent of the young participants as they competed in the friendly match.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees enjoyed a variety of activities designed to bring people together and foster a sense of community. Games were set up for kids, allowing them to participate and have fun. Food was provided to the community and generous giveaways added to the excitement, with many going home with special prices.

The Safe Summer event was more than just a day of fun; it was a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within the Far Rockaway community.
